Vintage Rustic Wedding Floral + Decor

As mentioned earlier in the week, the inspiration this week focuses around a Vintage Rustic affair.
I like the Vintage Rustic aesthetic because to me, it romanticizes normal rustic decor...giving it a boost of loveliness for a wedding. I assembled some centerpiece + decor ideas + inspiration below.

I will highlight a few:
- looking for a centerpiece but not keen on traditional favors? The idea is not new but is a lovely one: use mini potted plants + min floral arrangements for place cards and/or favors. When grouped together, they can make a cute little centerpiece.
- for a more rustic ring bearer pillow, see this one from Luckey U.
- I spotted this DIY rustic cake stand on from Once Wed via Simply Natural.
- to fill that space if you are going light on the flowers, look into Lanterns like those below from Pottery Barn or even mini lanterns + mini centerpieces like in this photo taken by from Mel Barlow.

Inspiration of the Week: Hollywood Glam / Freebie - Table Numbers

Happy Friday, friends.

As mentioned yesterday, here is the little freebie - as a thank you for reading my blog + as a little help to those planning a Hollywood Glam wedding or event. These table numbers can also be used if you are incorporating damask or a similar style into your wedding.

These are numbered up to 15 and sized 6 x 8, meant to be cut to 5 x 7 and placed in a picture frame. Download, print [on best quality] and cut to size. As always, for personal use only. :)

This week's inspiration [of the week] ideas focus on beautiful centerpieces-  centerpieces in different trendsetting colors schemes. There will be no all-white arrangements here...

Today: coral and green. I love that this color has been big this year because that was my color scheme almost 2 years ago! Oh, how time flies. Needless to say, I love it when done right. I think it is also important to add a tertiary color as well. Many florists will agree for reception centerpieces, to add depth like in the lovely third and fourth centerpieces. But are these first two centerpieces great or what?

Will you light my candle? Okay, I am not Mimi but I love the musical Rent, what can I say...
I love how candles add a romantic touch to evening receptions...or otherwise dark reception spaces.

I like this paper lantern and candle centerpiece from Every Day with Rachael Ray for a laid back shower or a less formal wedding..

Today: Paper Flower Centerpieces

I like this inspiration for showers...or even engagement parties, if you are having one. Paper centerpieces add a new kind of fun to the table. Here are some favorites that make me want to go out and make them today...or this weekend when I have more time. :)

Today: Out of the Box Centerpieces...

So, it may not be a surprise that I love centerpieces. For my wedding, centerpieces were definitely the thing I was most wishy-washy on because of the endless possibilities. I decided on low centerpieces to allow people to better talk to one another and see each other - that was important to me. Centerpieces don't have to be tall or large to grab the attention of your guests...

Because I Love Fonts + This Design....

Wow. Talk about out of the box design...
Instead of using typical centerpieces for a gala celebrating the Metropolitan Opera's 125th year anniversary, David Stark Design and Production decorated the space using various graphics + fonts and look at the result...

amazing.

Today...use different vase fillers-be creative.

 


You've probably seen cut lemons, limes + even kiwis filled in a vase. But what else can you use?

Jennifer from Hostess with the Mostess wrote about just that at Real Simple. I was about to put some vase fillers I like but some were already listed on her great list.

Inspiration of the Week: Beyond the Plain Vase

This week's inspiration {of the week} ideas focuses on ways to go beyond the plain vase...each post will focus on different ways to make it more fun, whether for a shower, reception or other event.

Today...use the vases in unique ways {part 2}.

I like unique floral design that is not the traditional flower "ball" centerpiece that in my opinion, is sometimes synonymous with wedding receptions...and what is often the centerpiece of choice for many on 'Platinum Weddings.' {really. I watch a lot of the episodes.} I think more isn't always more and would like to see more of the less is more look. I think it is often just as dramatic {if not more dramatic}!

These are some of my favorite centerpieces because they go beyond just sticking flowers in a vase. The vase, as you will see, is incorporated into each of the centerpieces. How fun + eye catching, right?

The flowers completely inside {whether submerged in water or not} is one of my favorite designs. It could be used as a centerpiece or even an aisle runner display. They are like pieces of art.

'Don't show me the stems.' Using leaves, sand, rocks, etc. to cover the stems looks great, no?


Artistic centerpieces don't have to be big + tall...cute little vases with all the goodies/flowers + leaves inside. The first picture is 9 small vases in a square. And the round bowl on the right is sitting on a big leaf. Way to think outside the bowl. Yep, I said it. :)

'Trying to fit a round 'hole of flowers' into a square peg?' I think the picture says it all-modern + unique.

    

There will be more pictures of these style of centerpieces in the future, for sure. Because I really, really, like 'em + think you will too!
